Lutz Lorenz started his professional life in 1977 in industry and subsequently worked in corporate finance/mergers & acquisitions until today.
His industrial career began at the former Düsseldorf based Mannesmann Group where he served in the market research department as well as Head of Sales Planning in the Pipework Division of international Mannesmann Anlagenbau Group.
Subsequently, Lutz spent about 2 years at the family held Kleinewefers Group of Companies (Krefeld) in the capacity of Group Head International Marketing.

Since late 1983, Dr. Lorenz went into banking where he started a career in corporate finance / mergers & acquisitions for a variety of banking and auditing institutions (incl. WestLB and KPMG), holding various senior positions. In late 1990 he became Co-Founder and Managing Director of Banexi Deutschland GmbH, the German corporate finance entity of the former French BNP Group. At UBS Private Banking he served as an Executive Director of the Entrepreneurs Team.

Between 2001 and 2014 Lutz acted as a Senior Partner and Co-Founder of investment banking boutique SynCap Management GmbH based in Frankfurt, Member of Clairfield International SA (Geneva/Switzerland).

Dr. Lorenz holds a Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Dipl.-Ing.) from University of Karlsruhe (today: KIT Karlsruhe Institute of Technology) as well a Ph.D. (Dr.-Ing.) in Ferrous Metallurgy from Technical University of Aachen /Aix-la-Chapelle. In 1975/76 he was granted a scientific scholarship at University of Sydney/Australia and spent several months at MRL (Melbourne Research Laboratory), a research unit of the former BHP Group.
